Hi! I still can’t believe it’s almost Christmas and still can’t believe it’s almost 2016. That’s just crazy. But the end of the year means it’s time to make resolutions for the coming year. I actually make resolutions all year long, but I do try to kick off the year on the right foot mentally, socially, financially, physically, and emotionally.
That’s why I’ve partnered up with the folks at the online retailer, Farfetch, to share five of my resolutions with you–along with the fashionable items that I really think will keep me motivated to keep all of my resolutions this year!
1. Travel more! One of the best ways for me to get a mental recharge is to explore and soak in other cities, nations, and cultures. And when I travel I want to be organized, prepared for the weather in new places, and show the world my own sense of style.
Wearing a functional backpack makes it easy to keep your belongings safe when navigating through an international airport in Tokyo or shopping in an open-air market in Turkey!
This Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Domo Biker’ backpack is perfect for travel because there are two front zip pockets–one to keep your boarding pass and ID secure, and the other for money, pen, and lipstick. And it looks amazing.
Also, the one piece of clothing that I take on any trip, no matter whether I’m traveling to warm and sunny Bahamas or snowy Aspen…I always, always, always bring a hooded windbreaker. These light jackets are perfect because they can be worn in breezy tropical weather or layered under heavier coats.
This P.A.R.O.S.H. windbreaker is a stylish update on the classic navy blue zip jacket.
2. Organize more girls’ nights out. It seems like the busier I get with work and projects, the deeper my social life takes a dive. That’s why this new year I want to take the initiative to call on my best girl friends for more of those much-needed nights out. Meet-up at the hot new bar in town with my gorgeous gal pals for drinks and nonstop laughter? Yes, please!
And to reach my #squadgoals, I’ll need to up the ante on my “casual night out with the ladies” look!
For me, the ultimate girls’ night outfit consists of a well-designed tank top like this 1) pretty paisley tank top by Mary Katrantzou, 2) casual yet dressy waxed-effect skinny jeans by Armani, 3) a cute biker jacket like this denim jacket by Moschino Vintage, 4) essential Valentino Rockstud pumps, and 5) an “it” bag–Mini Givenchy Antigona tote.
3. Shop with remixing in mind. I’m sure I’m not the only one when I say I want to save money in the new year. And that means shopping smarter. One of the best ways to stretch dollars (and wardrobe) is to remix pieces into new and different outfits. I’m actually terrible at it and tend to wear the same things in the same way over and over, but that’s all changing this year!
Remixing can be simple. Adding a belt to dresses, cardigans, or long sweaters can instantly create a new look.
This layered belt by Maison Margiela is two-tone in blue and black, making it even more versatile for remixing with denim or leather.
It’s also easy to remix tunics, as they can be worn with jeans, tights, leggings, or skirts:
This Vivienne Westwood Anglomania ‘Alt’ tunic could even be worn with the layered belt and jeans for a completely different look. Cha-ching!
4. Work out and own it. This wouldn’t be a proper list of resolutions if I didn’t mention anything about getting (and staying) in shape. Many of us are in the gym in January, but never return after February. The best way for me to stay motivated in the gym is to see progress. Hey, my butt looks better! I’ll keep at it!
And when hard work pays off, there’s nothing wrong with owning it! Form-flaunting leggings that really stand out and biceps-baring tank tops are perfect for flexing and proclaiming my progress.
I’m not afraid to sweat and push hard in this outfit: 1) racerback performance tank top by Adidas by Stella McCartney, 2) bold pink and black paneled leggings by Lucas Hugh, 3) super cute ‘Running’ sports jacket by Adidas by Stella McCartney, 4) adorable patterned Nike ‘Roche Run’ sneakers.
5. Make home the happiness zone. It seems like every year work gets more hectic, friends get more dramatic, and the world gets more chaotic. That’s why this year I want to make sure our apartment is the one place Eddie and I can go to relish in moments of peace, and to hold each other up before taking a deep breath and facing the world again.
Our happiness zone is somewhere beautiful where we can relax, escape, and enjoy the solace of each other’s company. Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?
He’ll be comfy in this 1) basic tee by Save Khaki United (so will I when he’s not wearing it). This beautiful 2) Kelly Wearstler ‘Graffito’ pillow is perfect for lounging and TV binges. Happiness zone wouldn’t be complete without this 3) white wax vanilla candle by Diptyque and a massage! Nothing beats unwinding with a bottle of merlot. I adore this 4) Carl Rotter circular wine glass.
And there you have it…five of my new year’s resolutions, all motivated and etched in gold by Farfetch. Let me know if you’ve made any resolutions this year. And what makes you stick to ’em?
Thanks for reading! And thank you to Farfetch for partnering with me on this post, and for inviting me to share finds and participate in this fun blogger event!
I love love love all these resolutions. I have really been trying to remix my wardrobe and organize more girls nights out.

Those are really great resolutions, Jenny! Hmm, I am never one who makes resolutions, I find it hard to tick to them and I just do things on the go. Maybe I should try making them for next year? We’ll see. Merry Christmas to you, beautiful!
