KOREA DENIM JACKET AND SHANGHAI KICKS

Happy April! I hope you had a nice start to the cruelest month. No April Fool’s pranks here. Just been enjoying nice weather and lazy days. No complaints.

Here’s a casual look that I’ve pretty much been living in: jeans, distressed top, jacket, and sneakers. Do you ever get into phases where a certain trend or outfit combo becomes your uniform?

So I’ve been inspired by the staggered hem trend and I badly wanted jeans with a step hem. I specifically eyeballed the ones by Frame, which is my current favorite denim company, but wasn’t sure about the $200 price tag. Since I’m really trying to save money these days, I decided to DIY a pair of my old 7FAM jeans.

Actually, I asked Eddie to cut them for me because he’s way more precise and meticulous than I am. He even used a ruler to measure and mark the hem before cutting…I would have just freehanded and cut it crooked. They turned out great. I hope he knows he’ll have to alter my blue 7’s too.

And I’m still loving the shredded tee look. Found this distressed tee that looks like a rat gnawed holes through it. I actually used to have a furry pet rat that would chew through my fabrics. I remember getting so mad, but look at me now…going out of my way to buy a shirt like this. Ridiculous.

I’ve been obsessing over Nike Air Max 90s lately. I got my hands on these limited edition “Must Win Cake” kicks. They were part of the 2015 City Collection honoring global cities and their sweets. These space pink ones are textured with a diamondback pattern, representing Shanghai. And cake. The purple ones representing Paris are so cute too, looking all like a lavender-flavored macaron.

Isn’t this denim jacket great? I got it for less than $12 at Forever 21. It’s most definitely sold out now, but they still have a lot of cute embroidered denim jackets available. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the embroidery and the jean material. Totally reppin’ the motherland here.

I recruited Eddie to be my photographer, so yay, and thanks to him I didn’t have to set up the tripod for this shoot. First, he cuts my jeans, then he takes my photos…what’s next?! #instagramhusband

I love this whole style! It is just the right amount to really make an impact. The blush pink is everything and I love the ripped detailing on the top 🙂

Love how this outfit turned out! I find it quite funny too how distressed tees and jeans are trendy. We are paying money for torn fabric. But I mean, style is style. It just makes it way easier to DIY. I haven’t tried wearing jeans with a step hem yet, but I do like that trend!
Haha I need to get myself an instagram husband. I typically just force my sister or a friend to take photos for me. And it doesn’t always work haha
I hope you are having a fabulous day 🙂
