Hi! I hope you’re having a great week!
I know I’m spotlighting a really simple and casual outfit, but I had to share because of the internal struggle that I had with these white jeans. Recently, my boyfriend Eddie suggested that I add some white jeans to my wardrobe. Because they “pop” and “stand out,” he said. And it’s true…white jeans really do catch the eye, and my god…they are a basic wardrobe essential! So even though I haven’t worn a pair of white jeans since the third grade I hastily ordered a pair online and could barely wait for them to be delivered.
When the jeans finally arrived, I was happy that they fit nicely, particularly at the ankle…which is a very special occurrence when you’re only 5’1″. I immediately felt that they were a keeper (ie, didn’t need to send them back). But the problem arose when it came to styling them. I had been inspired by other blogs and Pinterest, and envisioned myself pairing the jeans with a cute flowy rose quartz top with some lace-up flats, or a bright-colored blouse and heeled sandals in celebration of spring. But when I tried on the outfits I looked terrible in them. The outfits themselves were pretty cute and well put together, but it was me who looked weird, awkward, uptight, and not like myself. It was strange. I started to think that I had to return the jeans after all.
But no, we don’t give up that easy. And short girls are never allowed to blame jeans that fit perfectly at the ankles. I realized it was me who was overthinking it all. Or not thinking at all. I’m not really much of a bright-blouse girl; I’m probably not much of a fashionable girl in general. But I remembered what I like wearing most and what types of pieces make me feel best. I like my outfits simple, comfortable, and kinda cool looking. So when I threw on a black top and black sneakers and grabbed my favorite black crossbody, I felt so much better! Less can certainly be more.
So this black shirt/white jeans ootd isn’t the most “blogworthy” outfit, but in a personal way, it is.
Thank you so much for reading my story! Embrace your own unique style, because nobody looks better in it than you.

I was always iffy on wearing white jeans just because I thought darker colors looked better on me, but after seeing the pics of you in these jeans and how flattering they look on, I just might have to buy some! I’ve always been adamant about investing money in jeans because they are so versatile and can be worn so often! I love the outfit you created with the white jeans- you look fabulous!
You look wonderful darling! Simple is always the most stylish! <3 xxx
